Bradford County Library’s Bookmobile is scheduled to visit the following locations to deliver requested titles and refresh present collections. On October 3rd the Bookmobile will be at the Wyalusing Library at 10:30 a.m. and also the Sugar Run Post Office at 12:30 p.m. October 5th the Bookmobile will appear again at the Wysox C&N Bank from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., walk-on service. On October 15th the Bookmobile will appear at Towanda Memorial Hospital at 10:30 a.m. with a visit to the New Albany Library at 11 a.m. to follow. The Bradford County Library is located on Route 6, midway between Troy and Towanda. The Beautiful Baby photos are on display now at the Dandy Mini Mart in New Albany. To vote all you need to do is drop your money in the jug of your favorite baby photo. The photo with the most money will be the 2012 Beautiful Baby. The contest is being held in conjunction with New Albany’s Fall Festival. Pictures will be on display at the Dandy through Saturday, September 22, until 11:00 a.m. The judges will count the money in each photo jug to fi nd out who will be the 2012 Beautiful Baby. The winner will be announced after the New Albany Fall Festival parade which starts at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 22.

In addition, State Representative Tina Pickett and Senator Gene Yaw will be in attendance. There will be a question and answer period following Congressman Marino’s speech. DUSHORE RESIDENTS HAVE ROLES IN 125TH ANNIVERSARY PRODUCTION The Bradford County Regional Arts Council (BCRAC) continues its 125th Anniversary celebrations for the Keystone Theatre on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m., as the Winding River Players present a re-enactment of the Theatre’s 1887 Grand Opening Play, “Queen Elizabeth.” The Theatre originally opened its doors on September 21, 1887 with Paolo Giacometti’s “Queen Elizabeth” starring Mrs. D.P. Bowers as Queen Elizabeth. Bowers was a known actress in her time, quite often starring opposite of other renowned actors such as Edwin Booth (John Wilkes Booth’s brother) and Maurice Barrymore (grandfather to John Barrymore, actor, and great-grandfather to Drew Barrymore, actor/director/producer). She and her husband, David Bowers, also owned the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia for a time in the mid- 1800’s. Julie Larnard-Newbury of Winding River Players, who will play the illustrious Queen Elizabeth I in the September 21st performance, describes the play as “…it’s like if the History Channel decided to present a ‘soap opera.’ We see the intrigue of the royalty, the background for the battle, which changed the course of history, and the palace romance. To add to the feeling of the ‘continuum of history’ we will be using antique furniture as the set pieces, including a large chair that belonged to Elias Hale [who built Hales Opera House,

Local artist Karen Black of Dushore has been named the new Gallery Director for the Blue Heron Art Gallery, Wyalusing. Former director Brian Keeler has retired and has moved to NY state. As the Blue Heron celebrates it’s 10th year, Karen looks forward to the challenge of balancing the shows of this region’s best poets and artists as well as showcasing more of our outstanding local artists, writers and musicians. Using her 25 years of business and marketing background, as well as her creative talents, Mrs. Black hopes to build more community involved events and welcomes anyone who is not a member of the gallery to contact her and get involved. Residents of Sullivan County are reminded that the last day to register before the November 6, 2012 General Election is October 9, 2012. It is also the last day to make any changes to the voter’s record. If you have moved within the county that changes your voting precinct, have a name change, address, or party change this information should be made before this date. All voters will be required to show Photo ID when voting.
