TO THE EDITOR

TO THE EDITOR: Sullivan County residents will have the chance to vote for an outstanding candidate for Sullivan County School Board on November 7 – Frank R. Comfort. Many people know Frank for his remarkable accomplishments in coaching and his engagement in your community, but I wanted to highlight Frank’s dedicated support for classroom education. He is an active board member of two schools of education at universities, and, through this service, I have personally seen his commitment to teacher preparation and innovative instruction, as well as student needs through his active support of scholarships, classroom technology upgrades and books. Frank is both a listener and one to ask thoughtful questions about how we are making programs and opportunities fiscally sustainable. He will bring deep understanding of educational systems to your Board’s budget and policy questions and I have no doubt that he will be an excellent collaborator with other Board members. Joanna O.
